The management of the PIVKey smart card keys and certificates is done through the Microsoft minidriver. As such, PIVKey does not support the equivalent PIV commands as per NIST SP-800-73, such as PUT DATA.
Instead, PIVKey supports the Windows Smart Card Minidriver API for loading of data.

Any chance you guys would publish the raw APDU commands? Not everyone who wants to use your cards use Windows.
The NIST SP-800-73 spec provides the apdus for reading and using certificates on the card. We support those.
However, the main benefit of PIVKey is the ability to use it on Windows, with the standard Windows domain and certificate infrastructure. If you want to manage the card on non-windows platforms, we recommend a standard PIV card.
