Windows incorrectly installs "xPass Smart Card" Minidriver for PIVKey Cards

For a period of time in the fall of 2020 Microsoft published a faulty Minidriver from Feitian that Windows would incorrectly associate with the PIVKey smart card. This Minidriver has been removed from Microsoft update.

To check if this has occurred on your system use the Device Manager, insert your card or token, and look for the "xPass Smart Card" driver 

This Minidriver installs several dll's the system folder, and adds certain smart card information to the registry as such:

To delete the minidriver, go to the Device Manager, and select uninstall from the context menu.  Make sure to check "Delete the device software for this device".
